What makes Guardian Wireless security systems different from traditional security systems?
- Guardian Wireless makes security systems that are not phone line dependant. That means your security system will work whether you have Vonage, satellite phone, a traditional landline, cell phone or no phone line at all. Guardian Wireless security systems send all alarms and other signals through cellular towers. The messages then weave through our secure server. As soon as your Guardian Wireless system is powered up, it starts communicating with all of the local wireless towers in your area, similar to how your cell phone works.
- Since Guardian Wireless security systems send signals wirelessly, your system is more secure than other systems that use the phone line or hard wired sensors to report alarms. Even if an intruder cuts your phone line and power, your Guardian Wireless security system will still be able to report alarms. Most people who have traditional security don't realize how vulnerable the system is to line cuts.
- Guardian Wireless firmly believes that a loud siren or horn may not stop a theif. We have integrated what we believe is the most unique and best technology into our security systems. There is no phone line required and no additional phone or service that you need to provide (the monthly monitoring fee covers your service). We also have no setup or installation fees. We feel that our products are customer installable. We give you the option to find someone to install the system.

Can I install your systems myself?
Yes, because there is no wiring (with the exception of
The Guardian System which is extremely
simple to install), installation consists of simply placing the security system of your choice and wireless devices with
screws in the locations of your choice. No wiring applies to all sensors except the horn/siren. All systems are pre-programmed
to the unit you request. See below.

How do I know exactly what I need?
You need to analyze your situation. Some questions that you can ask yourself are: What locations
do I want to monitor? How many locations do I want to monitor? Where are most prevalent threats located? In some situations,
it is better to have an infrared sensor than multiple intrusion sensors. Do I need to monitor for smoke or temperature? What
do I need to feel confident about the security of my property? These are just a few questions to help you decide on what
sensors you would like to apply to your unit. Guardian Wireless is here to provide you with honest appraisals of your
security needs. We will be happy to discuss your situation with you. Give us a call at (800) 330-7413 or email us at
sales@guardianwireless.com.
We respond to emails within 24 hours with the exception of weekends and holidays. We pride ourselves in the phrase
"customers come first".

Can I have a siren/horn added to my security system?
This applies to Marine Guardian®,
RV Guardian®,
Contractor Guardian™,
Global Marine Guardian®,
Global RV Guardian® and
Global Contractor Guardian™.
Yes, we have recently developed our systems to handle a siren/horn continually meeting the needs of all our customers. Our
security systems' default packages do not come with a siren/horn but we can apply a siren/horn for your particular system. However, we
are unable to program a siren/horn to The
Guardian System™? or Tool Guardian™.
The siren/horn is programmed to sound for 30 seconds when any sensor is triggered. Acknowledging the telephone call will not
turn off the siren/horn. Also, the siren/horn is hardwired into the system for you. For
siren/horn details
please visit our store.

How long will it take to receive my unit?
Our minimum time for programming a unit is one week with shipping (maximum of two weeks). We make our units on order with the
exception of The Guardian System™ and
Tool Guardian™. Customers normally request us
to customize a security system to meet their specific needs (see our
customization page for more details), therefore, we do not
make our systems ahead of time as it is better to develop them upon request.

Where can I install the security system?
You can install our security systems virtually anywhere. Whether it is your home, jobsite, storage unit, car, RV or yacht
our system will work, guaranteed. See our guarantees for more
details.

How do I enter my contact phone numbers?
In order to enter your contact numbers you need to log on to your secure account. To log on to our secure site choose 'Members Log On'
from the menu at the top of the page and select the unit that applies to your situation. Enter your username and password
found in the letter that was sent with your unit. If you do not know your username and password, please
contact us. Next, go to 'preferences'. At the bottom of the page there is a
section where you can enter your contact numbers. Remember that the numbers call in the order you enter them and remember to select
the update button to enter them into our system. See our online
demonstration or
demonstration portfolio (.pdf).

Why does my security system constantly send alarms?
If you are moving in your RV or yacht then the system should be disarmed. When you arm the unit, it activates all the sensors
including loss of power and GeoFence (for global units), unless stated otherwise (see
customization). If you have your intrusion sensors more
than 1/8" (inch) apart or you may receive false intrusion alarms. If none of these situations apply to you, call our
friendly customer support team at (800) 330-7413. We are happy to resolve any questions you might have.
How do I connect my siren/horn to the security system?
There are two wires coming out of your main unit and three on the horn/siren. On the back of the horn/siren there is sticker
that states yelping (+), common (-) and steady (+). You need to connect the common wire to the wire marked negative (-) to
your unit. Then chose between yelping (+) and steady (+). Connect the one you choose to the other wire marked (+).
What does the Loss of Power sensor do?
Loss of Power senses loss of AC Power. It is built to monitor your property, not the security system power, since in most
cases the security system is hooked up directly to the battery. You simply plug in the Loss of Power sensor to an outlet.
With the Loss of Power your property will not lose power without notifying you. We are able to uninstall this option (see
customization for details).
What is GeoFence?
Guardian Wireless has the ability to set a GeoFence around your property (global units only). For example, if you own a yacht or RV and you arm
the security system, an invisible fence is set around your yacht or RV. The default distance is a quarter of a mile. If your
yacht or RV drifts or moves out of the quarter mile fence area, you will receive an alarm.

Do your systems need a land line in order to complete calls?
No, our systems are based off the cellular towers and satellites. No land line is required. That is the technology of
Guardian Wireless. Our systems can call any phone number with the exception of 911, since there is no live person on the
line. Once you receive an alarm you can take proper action.
Will your systems call satellite phones?
Yes, our systems will call any phone number that you can call normally through a land line.
How far do the sensor signals reach?
Most of our sensors should reach 100-200 feet indoors, and 300-500 feet outdoors (open air range) within the main unit. One way to over come 100-200 feet would be to use
repeaters. Repeaters simply listen for the signal and pass the signal on to the main unit. These are ideal for construction
sites. With a repeater you can gain an extra 600 feet (nominal), thus increasing your coverage area. For additional
details on purchasing please contact us.
If I decide to buy now can I add sensors later?
Yes, but you will have to send your unit back to get it adjusted.
What is the current draw of your security system?
Our cellular systems consume a resting rate of 150 milliamps and have a maximum draw of 1.25 amps during transmission. The
satellite units consume between 175 to 200 milliamps and approximately 1 amp during transmission.
